The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) provides teachers with direction and resources to enable effective implementation of the National Curriculum. It helps teachers to plan and provide opportunities for students to actively experience consistent, high quality and rewarding learning programs, regardless of what school or state they belong to.

Our school follows the ACARA English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History curriculum. We have been implementing the Curriculum into the Classroom program which was developed by the Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) to assist us with the implementation of the Australian curriculum.

Both ACARA and QCAR Frameworks demonstrate how elements of curriculum and reporting work together and promote greater consistency across classrooms and across year levels.

For other areas, the syllabus documents are developed around the Key Learning Areas of:

  • Health and Physical Education (HPE)
  • The Arts
  • Technology
  • Language other than English (LOTE).
