School excursions

School excursions are linked to the curriculum program and are undertaken to enhance learning opportunities for students. Examples of excursions in past years include: a historical walk through Brisbane, a tour of local historical sites, attendance of the Writer’s Festival at South Bank.

In response to community feedback during our Quadrennial Review, the school will increase our use of the cultural hub at South Bank. There is also a strong commitment to utilise the programs provided by CSIRO Education, in the adjacent Ecosciences Precinct. This program is supported by additional funds from the P&C.

School camps

Students from Years 5 and 6 participate in the school camping program. In Year 5 they participate in a three day, two night camp at Jacob’s Well Environmental Education Centre. Year 6 students continue our environmental focus with a five day, four night camp at Barambah Environmental Education Centre.
