The Australian Curriculum: Technologies consists of the two distinct but related subjects of:
- Design and Technologies
- Digital Technologies.
It ensures that all students have an opportunity to learn about, and work with, traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies that shape the world in which we live. In creating solutions, as well as responding to the designed world, students will contribute to sustainable patterns of living for themselves and others.
At Dutton Park State School, all classes receive weekly Digital Technologies ('digitech') lessons for one semester each year, taught by a Specialist teacher. Students are offered additional digitech opportunities such as Code Club (a weekly lunchtime activity), 3D printing and the annual Premier's Coding Challenge.
Our Design and Technologies program is supported by Make+Meld incursions, providing relevant, hands-on, well-resourced projects.
