Our school

Dutton Park State School has a rich history and first welcomed students in 1884. It services the diverse and vibrant communities of Dutton Park, Woolloongabba and Highgate Hill.

Our school has recently become enrolment managed, which means we are only able to guarantee enrolment of students within our school catchment or siblings of students who will still be enrolled in 2018.

The school enjoys a culturally diverse student group. Our 332 pupils represent 38 different ethnic backgrounds and 29 languages. English is the second language in 23 per cent of our families’ homes. The school enjoys a culturally diverse student group. Our 332 pupils represent 38 different ethnic backgrounds and 29 languages. Many of our current students are third generation Dutton Park attendees. Others are the children of refugees newly arrived to Australia. The school offers English as a Second Language, Philosophy in the Classroom, and Special Education Programs.

Student behaviour is guided by a set of six core values that encourage our children to respect themselves and others, to value the environment, to seek knowledge, to achieve their potential, and to contribute positively to society.

Dutton Park State School is a special place to work and play.
