In 1959 13-year-old Betty Warendorp won a competition to design a new Dutton Park school badge. She incorporated into the design the ‘Book of Knowledge’ to represent learning and a single palm tree to represent the line of palm trees then growing along Annerley Road. In 2009, when the school celebrated 125 years, Betty returned to Dutton Park to present each child and staff member with a commemorative badge.
